Argan oil is a rich botanical oil pressed from the kernels of the Moroccan argan tree, prized for the natural vitamin E and fatty acids that soften and add shine to hair and scalp.
What Argan Oil does
Argan is the luxurious nourishing oil in the No. 3 Scalp Elixir — the ingredient many people already associate with softer, shinier hair. It conditions, adds a healthy-looking sheen, and gives the Elixir its indulgent feel. The same plant appears in a second form in the No. 1 Scalp Clarifier, where an argan-derived surfactant does gentle cleansing work.
Under the loupe
Argan oil is rich in oleic and linoleic fatty acids and naturally high in tocopherols (vitamin E) and polyphenols, which is why it feels so conditioning and stays stable. It's hand-harvested in Morocco and has earned its “liquid gold” nickname. What's elegant about Juje's use of it is that a single botanical shows up twice: as a nourishing oil where you want richness, and as a mild, argan-derived cleansing agent where you want a gentle wash.

Is argan oil good for the scalp?
Argan oil is a rich, vitamin-E-laden botanical oil that conditions the scalp and adds softness and shine to hair. In Juje it appears as a nourishing oil in the No. 3 Scalp Elixir.
Will argan oil weigh my hair down?
In the Elixir, argan is balanced with lightweight ingredients like squalane and used as a targeted treatment, so it nourishes without the heavy feel a straight oil can leave.
The Ingredient Index is educational. Juje products are cosmetics intended to improve the look and feel of the scalp and hair; they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
